What can you use the application for?
BlogMarks is another social book marking site, which allows you to keep your bookmarks on the internet, so you can access with any computer as long as it has internet.
What is the history and popularity of the application?
BlogMarks is French oriented, as are a huge portion of the users. However, other people and languages seem to be allowed at the moment as well.
What are the differences to other applications?
Absolutely none. Other sites like del.icio.us have a bigger user base, which has more content for the most part, so one can't really say there is much difference from this site.
How does the application look and feel to use?
BlogMarks layout complements each other, so it's nice to look at, but it's nothing amazing. It seems slow when searching generic words without filters, so it'd be a good idea to watch for that.
How does the registration process work?
As of June 2008, you need an invitation code to join their site. Whether it's to prevent spammers or the like, the alternative is to send an e-mail asking to join. Not exactly normal, but it's a pretty simple process- you only need your username and password, inputting your actual e-mail is not mandatory.
What does it cost to use the application?
BlogMarks is completely free. The ads they place are slightly noticeable, but don't really get in your way at all.
Who would you recommend the application to?
This site is not recommended to those who want to start social book marking, but to those who want a more French oriented community and already have friends signed up. There are other, better alternatives for new people to experiment with.
  • Bookmark websites you find on the web
  • Share your bookmarks
  • Browse through other peoples bookmarks
  • Tagging that allows your friends to find your bookmarks
  • Add friends that join as well
