What are the differences to other apps?

Bloglovin’ is one-stop-shopping for blogs. Whether looking for the ones generating the most buzz or simply looking for something in a certain subject area, it’s easy to find something new on bloglovin’. Another very convenient feature is the new iPhone and Android app for checking out blogs on your mobile.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

On the home page, there are several options. Users may view popular blogs in the genres of Lifestyle, Art, Photography, Fashion, Food & Drink, Interior Design, Beauty, and Humor. The US is the default country, but users may choose to view results from Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.

Users may scroll through the blogs and see what posts appeal to them. Each blog opens in a new window. Users can then return to bloglovin’ and “like” the post. This feature is all about posts.

The Blog link at the top of the page offers blogs by Top Blog, Up and Coming, or topic: General Fashion, Personal, General Lifestyle, Photography, Beauty, Fashion, Art, Streetstyle, Interior Design, Food & Drink, Design, Crafts, Lifestyle, Parenting, Design, and More. Clicking more brings users to multiple topics from TV to MMORPG to Religions, to Science blogs.

Each choice yields a list of blogs, URL, and number of followers. The blog has a link for users to review it and decide whether to follow. The link does not open in a new window, so users will have to use the “back” button to return to bloglovin’ page. To follow a blog, click the follow button. When searching for blogs, note that the first page yields limited results. To see more, click the “All” button at the top of the screen or “see all” at the bottom. Upon clicking “follow”, a confirmation of the follow appears on the screen.

During the review, it was obvious that one must view the blog and not go by the title of thumbnail. One blog had a happy name with pink flowers and was all reviews of very dark tales.

To add YOUR blog to the list of blogs on bloglovin’, go to the account tab and click My blog. From there you will claim your blog address. Bloglovin’ will locate the blog and generate a code to put into a new blog post to link your blog to bloglovin’. Once the post is published with the provided code (during review, rather than generate an actual link, just the text showed up and blog visitors had to use copy and paste), a user can claim the blog and is provided with a home page tracking visitor statistics as well as offering a Facebook connection. Users may edit blog info with name, description, and category. Unfortunately the thumbnail chooses an arbitrary section of the header and does not seem to be able to be changed. To get the icon to place on your blog for people to “Follow this blog with bloglovin’”. An html code is created specifically for your blog. It is extremely easy to add to your blog and may gain you followers!

Account Settings allows users to choose the amount of email notifications they receive when blogs they are following are updated.

How does the registration process work?

Registration requires an email and password. An email with verification link is sent immediately to the email provided. From there, users are invited to add their first blog.

What does it cost to use the application?

There is no cost associated with Bloglovin’.

Who would you recommend the application to?
