What can you use the app for?

BlogGlue allows users to connect their blogs to a larger network. The service gives bloggers the opportunity to gain more exposure for their blogs. BlogGlue works by providing the user with a plugin that they add to their blog. After the plugin is added, BlogGlue reviews new blog posts and creates related links to them which are posted on partner sites. BlogGlue chooses partner sites that are relevant based on the user’s blog topics. Through the links, the user receives more traffic and can begin to grow their blog following. BlogGlue breaks down the process by minutes. Six minutes after posting to the blog, BlogGlue links the post to the user’s previous posts. A minute after that, the user’s partner blog links hundreds of related blog posts to the user’s new post. Within eight to ten minutes, the user’s post appears in partner RSS feeds and a Twitter message with links to the new post is created. After twelve minutes have passed, the blog is linked to Facebook and within one to two hours after the post is made, a Twitter message mentions each partnered link in the new post. BlogGlue currently supports Blogger, Drupal, WordPress, Joomla and JavaScript.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

BlogGlue was founded in April of 2009. The application was intended to provide bloggers with a total marketing solution for their blogs. The company currently includes the founder, Paul Kenjora, who is also the CTO and CMO as well as CEO Nicholas Aretakis.

What are the differences to other apps?

BlogGlue gives bloggers a way to market their blog posts quickly and easily. The application takes much of the marketing footwork out of the process for the blogger. The user only has to add the plugin and begin posting to their blog. In less than one to two hours, their blog is linked through partner sites and social networks.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The BlogGlue website has a pleasant, upbeat design that uses a softly blue sky, with dainty white clouds and colorful images that show how a user’s blog can be marketed all over the world through popular online sources. The site manages to remain very neat and organized without breaking away from its colorful, almost cheerful style.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can become a BlogGlue member by clicking the green “Start Free” button near the lower, right hand side of the homepage. The site asks the user for their email address, username, password and a word verification to prevent spam. Two check boxes are automatically selected at the bottom of the page. The top box signs the user up for account update emails and the second box adds the user to the BlogGlue newsletter list. The user must uncheck one or both to opt out of email updates.

What does it cost to use the application?

BlogGlue gives users three membership options to choose from. The first is a free plan that includes up to five partners and 200 related posts. The Basic plan upgrades to 15 partners and 1,000 related posts for around $10 per month. The Unlimited plan gives the user unlimited partners, up to 5,000 related posts and a featured listing in the BlogGlue search pages.

Who would you recommend the application to?

BlogGlue could be a helpful tool for anyone who is serious about their blog. The service can help users gain readers and increase the popularity of their blogs. The three plans are economically priced so even a small time blogger can easily afford a paid membership if they want one.

  • Install the BlogGlue plugin
  • Have your blog posts linked automatically
  • Find your blog posted to partner sites
  • Expand readership through social network links
  • Choose from one free and two paid plan options

I've tried to contact Blogglue several times about different issues, and I have never received any response. I do not recommend signing up for their paid options because if you cancel your reoccurring payments, it just takes your money and drops you back down to a lower level than you were before opting in to advertising. In principle, this is an awesome program, but in practice, the lack of support makes it hard to continue to use. In addition, I have been having actual problems with the plugin side and not just the account side. Many of my posts do not list any of the related posts from my internal blog, but will still list those related on other blogs that are not mine. It looks crappy with just blank unordered lists.
