What is the history and popularity of the app?

BitBucket was founded in February of 2008 by Jesper Noehr. The company owns a main office in Kobenhavn, Denmark and a satellite office in Preveza, Greece. On September 29th, 2010, BitBucket was acquired by Atlassian. There was hope that the acquisition would improve infrastructure and support offered by BitBucket to current and future users.

BitBucket provides user with five membership options to choose from. The first is a free account which allows up to five users. A user is described as an individual who has access to read or write to a private repository. The first paid membership costs around $10 per month and upgrades to include up to 10 users. The net is a 25 user account that costs around $20 per month. The 50 user account costs around $40 per month. The most expensive membership option is the Unlimited User account which costs around $80 per month.
