Amiando was founded in December 2006 by six friends, Markus Eichinger, Dennis von Ferenczy, Felix Haas, Sebastian Baerhold, Armin Bauer, and Marc P Bernegger. Amiando is based in Germany and has received funding from many sources including the VC network. There are some well known investors including Stephan Glaenzer and the Wellington Partners.

Amiando is the biggest event management service in Europe and offers some unique features. Because they are able to offer their own payment systems this means that they can offer unique concepts such as viral ticketing.
How does the application look and feel to use?
The application is just what you would expect from a major player in the online event management business. The website is very professional and has a lot of really nice features. All accounts are also advert free as long as you pay a small one off fee for free accounts. Using amiando is very easy and there are plenty of online tutorials if you don’t understand how to do something. It’s quite nice to be able to test out the features of the application using the free version and then upgrade if you want in the future. The application is very popular and has some very big customers such as BMW and O2 that shows just how useful this tool is to manage and control events. Professional accounts also feature professional ticketing systems which means it provides complete event management solutions for any event no matter how big or small. Creating new events is very easy, it’s just a matter of clicking and customizing the form, it has a nice interface. Once you have set it all up then you can choose who you want to send it to. It also features event management which helps you to keep track of what’s happening and who’s coming.
How does the registration process work?
Registering for an account is easy; first you need to choose the package that you want to sign up to. The free account is known as amiandoFRIENDS, you will then need to fill in a fairly standard registration form. You must confirm that you accept the terms and conditions, and also uncheck the newsletter if you don’t want to receive it. As soon as you have registered you will then be asked to set the account up, you can either do this yourself or pay the site to do it for you.
What does it cost to use the application?
There are a number of different packages offered by Amiando, the free account is known as AmiandoFriends and offers all of the basic features. Pro accounts start from 7.5% per ticket sold and offer ticket management features. Complete event management packages are available from €2.90 per guest, and it offers the option to manage guest lists, and create a professional website for your event.
